The President sat for a 60 Minutes interview on Sunday, following a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner the night before.
At a D.C. hotel where the WHCD was held, Cole Tomas Allen sprinted towards the ballroom carrying a weapon. At the same time, the President, Cabinet officials, and members of the press corps watched Mentalist Oz Pearlman perform inside.
Secret Service Agents were able to tackle him before he reached the ballroom. Law enforcement took Allen into custody at the scene.
During their investigation, officials discovered a ‘manifesto’ of sorts, which 60 Minutes host Norah O’Donnell read from.
In the lead-up to a question about the shooter’s manifesto, O’Donnell read Allen’s statement about pedophiles in government.
Assuming she was only reading it out loud to make him look bad, Trump lost his cool and attacked O’Donnell, calling her “disgraceful” and behaving like a “spoiled brat.”
A Malignant Narcissist like Donald Trump will always make everything about them. However, it was still quite telling that the mention of ‘pedophiles in the government’ elicited such an angry response from him.
The host attempted to follow up by asking whether he thought Allen had directed the comments specifically at him, but Trump was in full-blown tantrum mode by that point.
The President all but admitted guilt by reacting the way he did. An innocent person would be wondering who it could be in reference to, not immediately assume it was about him.
Trump has never been good at keeping his mouth shut, so it’s not surprising that he revealed more than intended during the 60 Minutes interview.
