News and Content

Where Does the News on Resist Hate Come From?

News articles are written by the Senior Editor, staff writers, or they are republished from an independent, nonprofit news organization we trust that publishes under a Creative Commons license.

What type of news will I find on Resist Hate?

The name of the organization comes from the cause the owner is most passionate about. Serena, the owner of Resist HateLLC, is also the Senior Writer and Editor at ResistH8.com.

Serena was painfully shy, quiet, and introverted growing up. As a young girl who was 6-feet-tall, Serena was bullied from Junior High all the way through high school graduation.

Her heart aches for children who are bullied. Adults aren’t doing enough to prevent or stop the harassment. After a friend’s 10-year-old nephew took his own life because of bullying at school and and online, She had to act.

As an advocate for anyone in need of support, Serena focused on bullying, racism, the anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric coming from Republicans, and hate in general.

The Goal: Grow the Community and organize to do more to combat hatred.

Do you accept guest contributions?

Yes, we do! If you’re interested in contributing your work to the site, read the Submission Guidelines first, then create a free account (only members have access), then use the Guest Post Form to submit your content. The Post Form page provides additional details about the image requirements for submissions. We are happy to add images for you. No need to ask! Any submission received without a featured image will go to the Editor to add a relevant image.

Why are there so many links in your articles?

Part of honest reporting is transparency. The media has done damage to people’s trust. RH is trying to change that. We don’t expect readers to believe what we’re saying immediately, so we provide a link to the source of any claim or statistic we include in our reporting. The links show you where that specific piece of information came from — even in opinion pieces.

Is there a fee to become a member?

Nope! Membership to tne anti-hate, pro-democracy Community will always be FREE. Our goal is to provide a Community to help unite the working class. The only way we can effectively fight to save democracy, get money out of politics, and bring positive change to the country, is if we do it together.

Whether it’s a policy from the Populist Plank or legislation to protect the environment, we are stronger together!

What Are User Groups? How do I Join One? How do I Create a new group?

Members of the Resist Hate Community can create and join user groups.

Groups give members the opportunity to join or create niche networks, engage in conversations related to their shared interests, or organize events. Members can interact with each other without feeling overwhelmed by the larger community, while also gaining access to exclusive content and resources.

With our group management features, users can quickly create and customize groups with their own privacy and posting settings. To create a group, fill out the create group form on the Community Groups page. Choose a name, write a description, and add a banner image to make the group stand out. Set clear group rules to guide members’ behavior and ensure a positive experience for everyone. Decide on the group’s privacy settings: make it public for anyone to join, private (by invitation or approved request only), or hidden (only group members can see it).

Set post moderation options: choose to auto-publish posts or require approval before they go live to ensure quality content. Select who can invite new users: group owners, owner and moderators, or all members.

The Groups Directory is a page that lists public user groups that all members can join

New questions are added frequently, along with any we receive through our contact forms.
