Our Mission
Honest News. Real Talk.
We exist because the stories that matter most are the same ones powerful people work hardest to bury. The mission of Resist Hate is to provide humanity-focused reporting without the influence of corporate sponsors, without billionaire owners, and without softening the truth to keep advertisers comfortable.
What We Do — Our Mission

We’re an independent advocacy journalism publication covering the beats legacy media rushes past: civil rights and voting rights, immigration accountability and ICE detention conditions, government overreach, human rights abuses at home and abroad, and the corruption that connects all of it. We report what’s happening, name who’s responsible, and refuse to pretend “both sides” framing applies when one side is stripping people of their rights.
Our coverage is direct and morally engaged. We don’t perform neutrality on questions like whether people deserve due process, whether children belong in cages, or whether a free press is worth defending. We do, however, hold ourselves to strict fact-checking and corrections standards — because being on the right side of an issue is no excuse for sloppy reporting, and our readers deserve better than that.
Why “Resist Hate”
We started out as a general progressive news blog and grew into something more focused.
After President Trump signed an executive order designating Antifa (antifascists) as a domestic terror organization, the former name of our website became a liability — Antifa HQ — and a target. Learn More: What is Antifa?

We rebranded to Resist Hate not because we backed off, but because the name reflects the new focus of our content more accurately: opposing hate as a political project, not just a feeling. White nationalism, mass deportation, attacks on trans people and women, the dehumanization of the citizens of Palestine and Lebanon, the criminalization of dissent — these aren’t separate stories. They’re the same story told in different chapters.
The Community
Reporting isn’t enough on its own. Readers need somewhere to talk to each other, organize, share what they’re seeing on the ground, and find people who haven’t given up.
The Resist Hate Pro-Democracy Community is a free social network built for that — no algorithm pushing rage bait, no data harvesting, no corporate moderators deciding which human rights violations are acceptable to discuss this week.
Members write for the Community Blog, form groups around the issues they care about, and connect with other people who are still paying attention. Learn More or Sign up now
What We Don’t Do
We don’t take money from corporations, political parties, or PACs. We don’t run programmatic ads that turn our readers into a product. We don’t run sponsored content disguised as journalism. We don’t chase clicks by laundering far-right talking points as “the debate.” And we don’t pretend objectivity means treating fascism as a policy disagreement. Where We’re Headed
A future where independent journalism doesn’t require a billionaire’s permission. Where a small, mission-driven publication can hold the powerful accountable without selling out to survive.
Where the people who still believe in democracy, human rights, and basic human decency have a place to read, talk, and organize that wasn’t built to extract from them. Donate so we can continue to be a people-powered publication.
We’re not going to be quiet. Neither should you.
Resist Hate is published by Resist Hate, LLC, an independent news organization based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Read our Ethics Policy, Fact-Checking Policy, Corrections and updates Policy, and DEI Statement to learn how we hold ourselves accountable.
