Red Flashing Warning Lights: Constitution Under Attack

The recent arrest of a Columbia University graduate student for speaking out against a foreign government at a protest should frighten all of us. Our government sent agents from the Department of Homeland Security to arrest a man for his speech.

I was beginning to feel like I was the only person who was freaking out about the attack on First Amendment rights by the Trump Administration. I wrote Freedom of Speech is Dead, where I talked about multiple recent examples of the United States government launching an attack on First Amendment rights. Yesterday I published a piece on the First Amendment to educate everyone about the rights they have to protect them from a tyrannical government.

I was just scrolling on X—because I’m a glutton for punishment—and saw this post.

There is another person who is at the same level of ‘freak out’ I’ve been experiencing for the past few days.

I was wondering if the media was ever going to point out this overtly obvious attack on First Amendment rights. Freedom of Press is one of the rights under that Amendment, after all.

They’ve reported on the events, but I haven’t seen anyone with their hair on fire about what it all means.
