Republicans aren’t happy about witnesses telling the truth during a hearing on Social Security. They claim they need to raise the retirement age to 69 to keep the program from running out of money. Fact: Billionaires aren’t paying as much into the system as they should be. Making that one change would mean they don’t need to raise the age. Witness Alex Lawson explains that if the age of retirement is raised, everyone on Social Security will have their benefits cut by a percentage.

Republicans have shown time and time again that they would rather make the working class suffer than hold billionaires accountable for paying their fair share in taxes. President Trump’s upcoming tax cuts will lower the corporate tax rate from 21% to 15%, increasing the wealth gap even more.

The Damage Report’s John Iadarola breaks it down.
