A 65-year-old woman called into a C-Span show to tell her story. Because she’s legally blind, the senior receives government food assistance.

At a recent visit to her doctor, they discovered that she had lost 28 pounds after the Trump administration’s Big Fugly Bill. She had been receiving $80/month in food aid. That was reduced to $24/month.

It was then cut again to $12.50/month, so she stopped going through the renewal process for such a small amount. She told the host she now budgets $65/month for food.

In tears, she tells the story of how she’s suffering.
