Joe Manchin revealed a lot more about himself than he may have realized while speaking with Brian Kilmeade on Fox News.
Can anyone in this audience honestly say this news is shocking? Manchin and Sinema voted against Biden’s attempts to do things that would benefit the American people again and again and again. I'm sure everyone began to wonder if they were “Republicans in disguise.”
In fact, at one point I was watching Fox News (for work) as Congress was about to vote on a bill on D.C. statehood. Brett Bair and another host were discussing the upcoming vote when Brett said, “I talked to Joe Manchin on the phone earlier and I asked him about it and he said they have the votes to stop it, so unless something changes before the vote, it’s not going to pass.”
I remember saying out loud, “Why the hell is Manchin talking to a Fox News host on the phone about a vote?!” That’s when it became clear to me that he wasn’t a real Democrat, he was there to stop Biden and the Democrats from getting anything passed.
When I heard that Kyrsten Sinema was changing her party to Independent after she had initially run as a progressive, I remember thinking: politicians shouldn’t be able to change parties in the middle of their term.
It sets a dangerous precedent.
What if Republicans were to run as Democrats in blue states, then switch to the Republican Party once they’re in office?
