Bishop Budde is a hero in the eyes of so many people after what she said to now-President Donald Trump. We will always lift up anyone who speaks truth to power. It’s more important now than ever before. Fascism and it’s friend, oligarchy, are now in our government.
BECAUSE WE PUT THEM THERE. How crazy is that? At least we no longer have to guess how fascist, authoritarian leaders throughout history were able to gain power in the first place.
I just never thought the authoritarian could openly tell us all of the fascist things he was going to do, give us a guide of executive orders and legislation so that we could follow along (Project 2025), and attempt to stay in power using fake electors to steal an election—complete with a violent insurrection—and we would STILL allow him become President.
We deserve being called idiots by other countries right now.
Bishop Budde called out Trump during her sermon on Monday, asking him to have mercy on the people in America who are scared right now.
Bishop Budde is woke
Just as I had predicted, the Fox News headlines began with: “Woke Bishop…” If there was still any confusion left as to what the right means by “woke,” it’s clear now. We have a situation and a statement to which they have attached the label—providing us with a clear, decisive definition.
Being “woke” means you care about your fellow Americans and see immigrants as human beings worthy of love and respect.
The horror!
Terrible, isn’t it? So Jesus Christ was woke, I guess? Any Christian that follows the teachings of Jesus is now woke by extension. Being woke means you don’t hate anyone who is not White and cisgender. That or you yourself aren’t White and cisgender.
I’m glad we’ve finally been able to pin them down on a definition. They’ve been avoiding having to admit the truth while we’ve known exactly what they meant the entire time. Come on… they label DEI programs as “woke” because they hate diversity, equity, and inclusion, PERIOD.
Trump called a woman of God who asked him to have mercy on fellow human beings “nasty” and “stupid.” We have learned from experience that any woman who stands up to Donald Trump is “nasty,” so that was expected. But stupid?
This coming from the man who thinks the test for Dementia is some type of IQ test. Most people would be self-conscious and not want anyone to know that their doctor was concerned about their cognitive ability enough to perform a test for dementia. They certainly wouldn’t brag about it.
Not Trump! He remembered all of the words in order and was able to point out which animal drawing was a giraffe. Yay! We are so proud of you, buddy!

During a prayer service at the Washington National Cathedral, Bishop Budde asked President Trump to show mercy. Mariann Edgar Budde, the Episcopal bishop, urged President Trump to safeguard immigrant rights and honor the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals.
