Resist Hate participates in affiliate programs instead of traditional display advertising to generate revenue without cluttering the site with ads for products that aren’t related to the RH brand or its values. When users click affiliate links and make a purchase, the site earns a commission at no additional cost to the buyer.
Some content on the site may also be sponsored (sponsored content is always clearly labeled), meaning it was created in exchange for compensation. RH only endorses products and services that we would genuinely recommend.

We don’t like the idea of ads covering the website, taking the focus off of the mission and our humanity-focused reporting.
If you are unfamiliar with the concept, here’s an example: a business that sells eco-friendly cleaning supplies has an affiliate program. If we love the brand and would honestly recommend their products to others, we join the program.
We can add links to our content, write a sponsored review of the products, or display ads inside articles, in the sidebar, or at the top of the website. When a user clicks on a link or one of the ads, they go to the website where they can buy the “cleaning supplies.”
When that happens, we earn a commission for that sale. The fact that we are paid a commission on your purchase does not change the price you pay. It’s the same whether you visit the website on your own or get there using our link. The only difference is that the link on our website tells the business that you were referred by resisth8.com. That’s how they know to pay us for referring the person who purchased from their online store.

The link or ad that leads users to that website is called an affiliate link. That means in exchange for each referral that results in a sale, we may receive a commission or other form of compensation (discounts, free stuff, etc.).
The fact that we receive compensation for a purchase has no effect on the price the user pays (Users can confirm the price hasn’t changed by visiting the merchant’s website in a different browser tab. That’s obviously a good thing! Without sponsors, our site would be covered in ads, and you’d have to deal with pop-up ads between pages and those super annoying, way too loud video ads in the corner.
We talk about these products and services because we believe in them and want to improve your life in some way. We only endorse products or services we believe in.
Of course, full disclosure: Resist Hate, LLC is a business, which means we would like to make money from it.
