President Trump will never deter us from practicing and embracing diversity. Therefore, it is the intent of the Resist Hate (known as “RH” from this point forward) company and website that the following Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement be the official position of RH.
This diversity, equity, and inclusion statement reflects our unwavering commitment to equity in media, responsible journalism, and the ethical amplification of underrepresented voices. It shall guide the advocacy, reporting standards, editorial decisions, community policies, and actions of the organization.
At RH, diversity is not symbolic. Equity is not optional. Inclusion is not conditional.
Divgersity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement and Guidelines
Fairness and Equity
(a) To ensure equal opportunity and fair treatment of its members, contributors, and readers, the RH site embraces diversity among members, authors, guest contributors, and the communities we serve. We recognize diversity as an integral part of our history, an acknowledgment of the complexity of our present moment, and a call to action for a more just future.
Our Community Blog provides a public platform where a diverse group of members can publish original content so their voices are heard beyond this community. In a media landscape where marginalized voices are often minimized, misrepresented, or excluded, we actively work to expand access to storytelling and public discourse.
We believe media representation matters. Who tells the story shapes considered truth. Therefore, we are intentional about creating space for perspectives historically excluded from mainstream reporting.
Anti-Racism, Anti-Hate, and Anti-Discrimination
(b) Embracing diversity means intentionally practicing acceptance, anti-racism, and mutual respect. It requires acknowledging that racism, discrimination, and systemic bias create privilege for some while sustaining disadvantage for others.
As a news and advocacy platform, we commit to examining power structures, challenging misinformation, and confronting prejudice wherever it appears — including within our own practices. Diversity, equity, and inclusion must be active commitments, not passive statements.
(c) To fully embrace diversity, we acknowledge that systemic racism, discrimination, and implicit bias exist across institutions, including media organizations. Our goal is to eliminate these barriers within our community and within our reporting practices.
Our commitment to diversity requires ongoing self-assessment, transparency in our editorial standards, and accountability when we fall short. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and anti-discriminatory environment where individual and group differences are not merely tolerated but valued and leveraged for collective growth, learning, and social progress.
Equity in reporting means contextualizing injustice, naming discrimination clearly, and ensuring that coverage of social issues does not reinforce harmful narratives.
Diversity is Beautiful
(d) To advance our goals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice for the success of members and writers, we honor the uniqueness of every individual and recognize that our differences strengthen the progressive movement and democratic discourse.
This requires advocacy for policies and procedures that encourage both individual and systemic change. It requires continual reflection, community feedback, and measurable efforts to improve representation in authorship, sourcing, and subject matter.
We are committed to fostering an anti-racist environment that offers equal opportunity for all — not only in membership access, but in visibility, credibility, and platform reach.
(e) As a collective community, we are invested in cultivating and maintaining a climate where equity, anti-racism, fairness, and mutual respect are both intrinsic and explicit values. Our diversity, equity, and inclusion statement affirms that we value individuals and groups from all backgrounds, demographics, and lived experiences.
Individual and group differences include, but are not limited to: race, ethnicity, national origin or ancestry, citizenship, immigration status, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, registered domestic partner status, age, political beliefs, religion, creed, military or veteran status, socioeconomic status, and any other basis protected by federal, state, or local law.
We Reject Political Pressure
We reject the politicization of diversity and the mischaracterization of equity efforts as divisive. Our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion will continue regardless of anti-DEI or anti-“woke” policies advanced by the current (2026) administration or any future administration.
Our values are not dictated by political pressure. They are guided by human rights, fairness, and a belief that democracy is strongest when everyone is seen, heard, and treated with dignity.
