We’re Not Heading Toward Authoritarianism. We’re There.

10,000 officers are being added to President Donald Trump’s personal militarized police force that answers only to him. How will the “Second Amendment” folks react when the President’s personal militia takes over their city?

Kristi Noem said they have 80,000 applicants for the 10,000 ICE officer positions available. Actually, there are 80,001 applicants if you include Dean Cain, who announced that he would be “sworn in” in the next few days on Jesse Watters’ Fox News show. He completely ruined the idea that he’s anything like the Superman character he portrayed on Lois & Clark. It’s disappointing.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) isn’t like local law enforcement. They are a militarized police force wearing camo, military gear, face masks—as they walk our streets carrying their guns.

The Big Fugly Bill provided ICE with billions of dollars in funding. They now have a larger budget than the militaries in some countries. The thought that they’re growing their ranks with 10,000 more officers is terrifying. As former national security advisor Ben Rhodes said, the new recruits aren’t required to have any prior experience or training. Instead, we’re going to have a masked militarized police force that answers to no one but Donald Trump and Stephen Miller.

Rhodes also pointed out how President Trump mentioned “ICE coming into Washington, D.C.” to take control after “Big Balls” was assaulted. Crime in D.C. has nothing to do with immigration, so it sounds like Trump is planning to use the new ICE force as his personal militarized police force, sending them into cities across the nation like some form of martial law.

Here’s my question: When this militarized police force comes into town—hiding their faces—with no accountability to the mayor of the city or the Governor of the state, how are the “Second Amendment absolutists”going to respond? They claim they need their guns for protection against a tyrannical government.

I don’t see how it could get more tyrannical than an authoritarian leader’s militarized police force taking over cities. I have a feeling the people with guns who claimed they would protect us in this scenario aren’t going to do anything because the tyranny is coming from government officials on “their side.”

If Biden was doing this, the horrible scent of burning hair would fill the air. It’s going to take ICE agents stomping on their rights to wake them up to the reality of our current situation.
