Shayna Korol is a Future Perfect fellow, Vox’s section on making the world a better place. She reports on emerging technology, biosecurity, and human and animal health. She was previously a Program Associate and Biosecurity Policy Fellow on the Nuclear Threat Initiative’s Global Biological Policy & Programs Team (NTI | bio). She also previously worked as a reporter for BioNews Services, covering rare diseases and drug discovery. She is very interested catastrophic risk reduction.
Shayna was an inaugural Horizon Institute for Public Service Fellow. She has a bachelor’s degree in Health: Science, Society, and Policy from Brandeis University and an MS in Biohazardous Threat Agents and Emerging Infectious Diseases from Georgetown University. She is currently based in Washington DC, but enjoys traveling throughout the country in search of great hiking trails.
