The order came at the request of Attorney General Ken Paxton, who Beto O’Rourke accused in a separate lawsuit of going on a “fishing expedition, constitutional rights be damned.”
The attorney general is calling on the “full faith and credit” clause of the U.S. Constitution, which says states should typically honor each other’s judicial proceedings.
The county judge, two city council members and others are accused of vote harvesting.
A lawsuit filed by the state comes as more women athletes are being scrutinized for their height, athletic ability and physical characteristics as evidence that they are transgender.
