Donald Trump snaps at an NPR reporter after getting a question he didn’t have a real answer to.
“President Trump on Monday issued an executive order declaring “antifa” a “domestic terrorist organization.” The order was widely expected since Trump posted his intention to do so following the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The order references antifa — a diffuse, politically left movement that is shorthand for “antifascist” — as an “enterprise that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States government,” and urges departments within the executive branch to investigate and prosecute activities related to antifa, including “those who fund such operations.”
It is unclear how the order will be operationalized, given antifa’s decentralized nature as a movement and the lack of any federal legal provision to designate domestic terror groups.”
John Iadarola and Jayar Jackson break it down on The Damage Report.
